Give⇔And⇔Take

What is fair? The question’s deep—
In tangled meanings, most lose sleep.
Is it a rule, a solemn vow,
Or just the way we feel right now?

Let’s pause the game of right and wrong,
Where judgments clash and guilt is strong.
And ask instead: what helps us thrive?
What keeps all sides empowered, alive?

If both walk out with lifted hearts,
Then fair is where the good life starts.
Benefits for each to reap—
Why should any need to weep?!

You give your time, I give you mine—
We both decide the trade is fine.
No tricks, no guilt, no forced charade—
A win for each is fairly made.

To care for needs, both theirs and ours,
Can count as fair when matched with powers.
But need alone can’t be the way,
If meeting it yourself’s betrayed.

If both walk out with lifted hearts,
Then fair is where the good life starts.
Benefits for each to reap—
Why should any need to weep?!

The rules may say what's “just” or “clear,”
But rules can't feel the cost of fear.
And promises that bind too tight
Can turn what's fair into a fight.

So measure fair in give and get—
In future risk without regret.
Let fairness mean, with open eyes,
A choice that none need justify.

If both walk out with lifted hearts,
Then fair is where the good life starts.
Benefits for each to reap—
Why should any need to weep?!

No sacrifice for "looking good,"
No hiding hurt because we should.
But bold, clear steps to shape a space
Where each can show their truest face.

Define it well, make meaning clear—
Then fairness grows from love, not fear.
Not judged by rules that twist and snare,
But lived through acts of self-owned care.

If both walk out with lifted hearts,
Then fair is where the good life starts.
Benefits for each to reap—
Why should any need to weep?!
