Imp-Boy's Hospital Play

 

Both Dad and I, a Grab we took. 

 She is Dad’s friend, his heart she hooked. 

With trepidation she’d gone ahead,

Before we there could also tread.

 

For play’s our truth and fun’s our law, 

We kids know how to live in awe. 

And being silly is our right, 

Seriositis ends all delight.

 

A seven-year boy was right behind,

 I grabbed Dad's phone to speak my mind. 

"Are you a children?" — he said “forsure!”

Hospital play, not us immured!

 

For play’s our truth and fun’s our law, 

We kids know how to live in awe.

Seriositis ends all delight.
 

Adults have caught a sickness severe, 

Seriositis — it blocks all cheer. 

It’s praise and blame that got them all, 

Let’s have our fun before that pall!

 

A girl cross the hall, with grin she waved, 

Three kids a-playing, we misbehaved. 

The grownups a-rushing with things to do, 

Were innocent too and then got screwed.
