The Challenger touched the moon so high,
While I sat typing, time slipped by.
A thousand things have filled my days—
Too much to track in short essays.

Excitement blooms, then fades too fast,
When visiting, it rarely lasts.
Unless romance is in the air,
One day is all that I can bear.

But life keeps moving, wild and wide,
With change and courage as my guide.
Each step I take, each path I choose,
With some I win, with some I lose.

In Denver, days grew slow and thin,
So next time, I’ll just jump right in.
A job, a task, a daily chore,
Will help ensure I don’t get bored.

I met a girl—Ruth is her name—
A long-distance spark, a hopeful flame.
We’re testing what it means to try
When weekends pass as they shoot by.

Decided now to pay those taxes,
Though part of me just wants to axe it.
Following the rules, at least this round,
I’ll keep my rebel underground.

Two clients came in just this week,
Work flows with ease when you don’t seek.
One job at home, one at a plant—
Having this work is nice, I’ll grant.

But life keeps moving, wild and wide,
With change and courage as my guide.
Each step I take, each path I choose,
With some I win, with some I lose.

I’ve learned to ask for what I wanted—
Sometimes it works if I’m undaunted.
You’d be surprised how much you’ll get,
If you’ll just ask without regret.

The moonwalk starts, it’s on at eight—
But I’ve got dreams that just can’t wait.
From Whitney Ave to worlds unknown,
I walk my path and call it home.

But life keeps moving, wild and wide,
With change and courage as my guide.
Each step I take, each path I choose,
With some I win, with some I lose.

I got it!
