More Might With Dwight

“More Might With Dwight” is a free, two-hour Zoom gathering that I host

on the 1st Sunday of each month, beginning at 10:00 am China time.

During each session, five participants each present a personal challenge,

and I offer focused solutions in roughly 18 minutes per person.

While one person receives direct support, others listen in—gaining insights,

learning from real-life examples, and often recognizing parallels to their own situations.

We also set aside time for open sharing, reflections, and questions,

so everyone has a voice in the experience.

Anyone is welcome to join this event.

Dwight provided guidance and insights, encouraging participants to reframe their perspectives, embrace risks, and focus on present experiences rather than dwelling on regrets. The group explored strategies to manage expectations, reduce self-blame, and find positive outcomes in perceived failures. Participants shared personal experiences and learned from each other, with Dorothy and Maria highlighting the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and learning from life's challenges. The session concluded with an agreement to reconvene in a month, with Dwight mentioning a potential intermediate gathering.

Summary

Client Meeting and Personal Experiences

Dwight discussed the upcoming meeting with several women, including Katrina, Maria, and Ginger, who are expected to attend. He mentioned that one of his clients is a single 23-year-old man, but clarified that none of his clients are seeking romantic relationships. Dwight also shared a personal experience of meeting people at a Buddhist temple and taking photos with them.

Technical Setup and Participant Introductions

The meeting began with introductions, including a new participant named AI, who is not an AI system but a person with a Chinese name meaning "love." Maria experienced technical difficulties joining the meeting due to audio issues, which were eventually resolved. Participants discussed the setup and testing of audio, ensuring that everyone could hear and communicate effectively. The meeting was set to start, but it was noted that some participants were still joining.

Lazy Blame Game and Diet

Dwight and Maria discussed the concept of "Lazy the Blame Game," which Dwight explained was about how people often label themselves as lazy when they are actually hardworking. Ginger shared her concern about gaining weight, particularly around her waist and thighs, and mentioned her diet, which includes white rice and Xiaomi (a type of small yellow rice) for breakfast. Dwight encouraged Ginger to reflect on her eating habits and consider changes to achieve her desired fitness goals.

Healthy Eating Strategies Discussion

Dwight and Ginger discussed healthy eating habits and strategies to reduce calorie intake. Dwight suggested planning meals in advance and preparing healthy options like whole grains, beans, and fruits at home. He emphasized the importance of enjoying the present while also thinking about future health. Ginger shared her experience with various plant oils and agreed to try reducing oil and salt in her cooking. Dwight recommended using a pressure cooker or Instant Pot to quickly prepare healthy meals.

Overcoming Personal and Professional Challenges

The group discussed various personal challenges and shared strategies for managing them. Maria expressed anxiety about teaching a large class of 450 students and received advice from Dwight to focus on being present with students, make mistakes, and use techniques like speaking to one person at a time to reduce anxiety. Rocky shared his regret about buying a house he now dislikes, and Dwight helped him see that making mistakes is part of life and that self-blame is unnecessary. The group also discussed the habit of blaming others as a way to avoid self-blame and explored alternative perspectives on failure and personal growth.
