No Villains, No Saints

We did what we did, not what we could,
Each step a shadow from under the hood.
No fork, no split, no could-have-been—
Just cause and consequence within.

We scold, we praise, we name the blame,
Yet all our scripts are just the same.
The thief, the healer, side by side,
Each driven by those same deep tides.

No choice, no sin, no soul to shame—
No heroes rise, no one to blame.
Compassion, not the gavel’s sound,
Can turn the deepest war around.

To cage or free, to love or part,
We guard our space, protect our heart.
Not justifying pain with wrath,
But calmly choosing wiser paths.

Outrage may stir our will to fight,
But blinds us from the fuller sight.
When every foe is just like me,
Then war itself begins to flee.

No choice, no sin, no soul to shame—
No heroes rise, no one to blame.
Compassion, not the gavel’s sound,
Can turn the deepest war around.

So lay down guilt, and drop the sword,
Let cause and kindness bring accord.
For peace lies not in reprimands,
But when we drop the judge's hands.

I got it!
