Science Of "Shoulds"

An architect from any land,
With tools and rules at their command,
Can draw and build with shared design—
Their principles, near all align.

But ask six minds to mark the “good,”
From hills, from sands, from neighborhoods—
Each voice will clash, no one agrees.
No way to know what to believe.

Yet science speaks and then can prove,

From pain we flee, toward joy we move.

From this we start, then truths can grow—

And then from those our “oughts” will flow.

All acts are moved, in dark or light,
By hope for joy or fear of plight.
The wise have said, through peace and strife,
We all aim for the happy life.

Happiness comes from what you choose,
So ethics must not you confuse.
If reason guides, not default rules—
Your life will have the needed tools.

Where reason builds from deep insight,
Our lives will flourish, values right.
No mystic codes or laws above,
Just tested paths to joy and love.

Invite dissent, embrace the tests—
Ensure the theory stands when pressed.
With open eyes, we guide our life,
True principles will end our strife.

Happiness comes from what you choose,
So ethics must not you confuse.
If reason guides, not default rules—
Your life will have the needed tools.

I got it!
