Strange I Am: Just So You Know
I tell them early, plain and clear,
“I might seem strange as we draw near.”
No need to mask or play along,
This kind of truth can’t steer us wrong.
When strangeness walks into the room,
It doesn’t have to spell out doom.
In naming it, I set it free—
It’s just a part of being me.
Strange is fine, let that be known.
I’m not alone when I have shown,
My weirdness, almost like a crown,
I lift each other, no letdowns.
No shame in quirks or odd beliefs,
They could reveal a way to peace.
A way to care, a way to cope,
A way to stretch the bounds of hope.
Judgment shrinks, and eyes grow wide,
When I’ve got nothing left to hide.
Tension melts, and masks are gone,
Relationships can greet the dawn.
Strange is fine, let that be known.
I’m not alone when I have shown,
My weirdness, almost like a crown,
I lift each other, no letdowns.
We’re all a little bent, askew,
Trying hard to fit in those shoes.
I’ll say it first, and I'll invite
A deeper bond, a kinder light.
So here I stand, a little odd,
Not broken, just a bit unshod.
And you can walk this path with me—
A life of authenticity.
