Karaoke time makes everything fine
Karaoke flows wash away my woes Karaoke streams fulfill my dreams
Karaoke's light makes everything bright Karaoke's voice makes me rejoice

My good friend Frank Jorgensen is part of
a strong Norwegian family tradition
(with his mother having 13 siblings
and Frank having about 350 cousins).
Their annual family get-together in Norway
is celebrated with this family song.
I used Suno.com to help Frank create a "professional" version
of this song, including karaoke-style video.
Below are the Norwegian lyrics,
following by their English translation.
Vi tror, vi tror på sommeren
Vi tror, vi tror på sommeren
vi tror, vi tror på sol igjen
da møtes sommergjestene
og hilser på familien
tanter, onkler, fettere
kusiner, barn og barnebam
med bestemor og bestefar
blir rekken uavbrutt og klar.
Vi vokser på vårt utgangspunkt
Otelie og Nils var ung
med 14 barn og skipperhus
ble grunnlaget et fremtidsbrus.
Et ankerfeste "Sjølyst" var
med glede, savn og Gud i favn.
En takk vi sender til de to
som gav oss liv og livsens tro
Vi tror, vi tror pá Sørlandet
på torsk, makrell og krabbene,
på minner om mørellebrær,
og skjærgårdsturer, solskinnsvær.
Vi minnes "kreoline" tid
med hatter, jigger båt med stil
når Jelmertene dro pa tur
med tiner, mat og kattebur.
Vi tror, vi tror på slekters gang
pa bestepappas gode fang
en Jelmert ble til hundretall
kan du forstå at det går an.
En minnestund det er det verdt,
Velkommen til en kjempe kveld
fra Norge og fra USA
familie og venne lag.
We welcome, we welcome summer
We welcome, we welcome summer
We welcome the sun again
when summer guests meet
and greet our family
aunts, uncles, cousins
children and grandchildren
with grandma and grandpa
our lineage is unbroken and clear.
We grow from our roots
Otelie and Nils were young
with 14 children, and a captain's house
became the foundation a sparkling future.
" Sjølyst " was our haven
with joy, longing and God's embrace.
Thanks we send to the two
who gave us life and life's faith
We believe, we believe in Sørlandet
in cod, mackerel and crabs,
in memories of dark cherries
and island trips, sunny weather.
We remember "crinoline" times
with hats, jigger sail boats with style
when Jelmerts went on tour
with containers, food and cat carriers.
We believe, we believe in our family's path;
in grandpa's good lap;
one Jelmert became a hundred
can you believe that that could be.
A commemoration it's worth,
Welcome to a terrific evening
from Norway and USA
in the company of family and friends.
