Words: Those Sneaky Misverities

Words: Those Sneaky Misverities

Distinctions start with slowing down—
To question words you toss around.
Not just for polish, pride, or flair,
But look to fit what's truly there.

Each word you speak, each thought that’s there,
Reveals your view, a truth or snare.
Those words you speak and do believe,
Do they fit or fake reality?

Say what’s true, let it stay true,
Meanings sharp in words you hew.
Distinctions clear the lens you use—
So you can laugh, not be confused.

It isn’t found in just one word—
Though “maybe” shows where truth gets blurred.
Or “should,” or “have to”—all disguise
The fear you hide in polished lies.

You ask, “How do I know it’s so?”
“What facts are here behind the show?”
“What might they hear in what I said?”
And “What belief is being fed?”

Say what’s true, let it stay true,
Meanings sharp in words you hew.
Distinctions clear the lens you use—
So you can laugh, not be confused.

This isn’t harsh, it isn’t cold—
It’s truth refined, and boldly told.
To speak your words without their masks,
Makes living fun, where are those tasks?!

So train your tongue, and mend your mind,
Be kind through truth, not bumbling blind.
Integrity this way is sought—
So words you thought make what you wrought.

Say what’s true, let it stay true,
Meanings sharp in words you hew.
Distinctions clear the lens you use—
So you can laugh, not be confused.
