Bite By Bite Into Fear

Inch by inch, life's a cinch, so they have said,

Yard by yard life’s hard, it surely you’ll dread.

Fears that loom large, just one bite at a time,

With each baby step life’s easy to climb.

Step by step into fear, one bite at a time,

Each act of courage feels nearly sublime.

That elephant shrinks as you honor your soul,

One step leads the next and you’re always whole.

A stranger who sits in the park on the bench,

Might make your heart flutter, your courage to clench.

First smile at five people and let your eyes meet,

And fear slowly fades as the next one you greet.

Say good morning to three, let your voice find its way,

Then ask a kind question to brighten their day.

Each step builds the muscle, the fear starts to fade,

Breathe into that energy, your courage is made.

Step by step into fear, one bite at a time,

Each act of courage feels nearly sublime.

That elephant shrinks as you honor your soul,

One step leads the next and you’re always whole.

Ask for that raise or say “no” to the boss,

Step into a new life with so little the costs.

From speaking in public to saying “I love you,”

Just find those small steps that for you can do.

As many have said, courage shines more than dread,

We need not be heroes, just that one step ahead.

So breathe into the fear and then honor your soul,

One step leads the next and you’re always whole.

Step by step into fear, one bite at a time,

Each act of courage feels nearly sublime.

That elephant shrinks as you honor your soul,

One step leads the next and you’re always whole.

I got it!
