Catalytic Companion: I'm Rocking

 

In tasks we dread, in goals we stall,
A simple presence can change it all.
A subtle force, “Just look, no hands.”
Their watching helps us take a stand.

 

They need not work, nor take the lead,
Just standing by fulfills our need.
A gentle nudge, a counted pace,
Then tasks so easy we embrace.

 

With rucksack strapped upon my back,
Up thirty flights, no strength I lacked.
For every step, she called the count,
The easy flights I did surmount.

 

A simple chat between ten flights,
Ensured the climb remained so light.
A moment’s rest, a thoughtful view,
Then up again, I followed through.

 

Without her there, I'd lag, I'd stray,
Procrastinate, then walk away.
But by my side, she fanned my fire,
And I fulfilled my heart’s desire.

 

My book was stalled, and almost lost,
A daunting goal with sunken cost.
Yet with her sitting by my side,
That path ahead was clear and wide.

 

A listener near, their hands stay free,
Unlocks those thoughts inside of me.
For when I speak, I shape, refine,
The scattered sparks of my design.

 

Face to face or o’re the seas,
A catalyst makes me feel ease.
Their presence light, yet strong in fact,
It keeps me true, removes the slack.

So ask yourself what’s left undone,
What weight you bear, what race not run?
A helping hand is not required,
Just someone there, then you’re inspired.

 

Let hesitation fade away,
Take action now, begin today.
With just a friend who stands nearby,
Your dreams will lift, your steps will fly.
