Dance of Others and Oneself

 

In the world within, a clash can play,
Two voices guide us day by day.
Others whispers, "Be kind, take care,
Protect their hearts with love to spare."

It seeks approval, avoids disdain,
Ensures no blame shall leave a stain.
A guardian true, it guards with grace,
In every crowd, it saves our face.

​

Yet Oneself calls, "Be bold, be true,
The path you walk belongs to you."
It yearns for freedom, a chance to shine,
To honor the soul, a life divine.

But when they clash, these voices two,
What pleases them both? A rare debut.
For Others says, “Support and please,”
While Oneself longs to live at ease.

The balance lies in the heart’s own tune,
A harmony found ‘neath sun and moon.
To care for all, yet not betray,
The truth that guides our unique way.

​

So dance we must, with joy and grace,
Embracing life in every space.
For when we blend their love and might,
We walk through life with steps just right.
