Good Guys Are Bad Guys In Disguise

They stand so tall, the noble crowd,
With hearts so pure, so good, so proud.
Yet look beneath, and you will find,
Their hands unchain the cruelest kind.

No need to fight, no need to plead,
Just set your line and let it lead.
Say "no" with ease, release the weight,
And let what's wrong self-isolate.

Your first job isn’t giving more,
Or proving worth through what you bore.
It’s knowing when to step aside,
And choosing you instead of pride.

My mother wept, her heart was sore,
For love she gave and wounds she bore.
Yet all along, she held the key—
Of saying “no” and living free.

The father gave, he tried to guide,
Yet left himself pushed to the side.
He thought that showing how he cared
His son would grow, yet stayed ensnared.

The "good guys" cry, "They take, they steal!"
Yet fail to see the silent deal.
To prove their worth, they play the part,
Then call it kindness, call it heart.

If "good guys" chose to care themselves,
Not sacrifice for someone else,
The ones who leaned would soon awake,
And find there’s nothing left to take.

Yet all still want their turn to shine,
To be the one who looks so kind.
To show how much they gave, they tried,
Then claimed their pain was justified.

But peace is found outside the world,
And “good” and “bad” no longer swirl.
To live, to love, to walk in grace—
Where all of life can be embraced.
