Life Is For Two Kinds Of Play

One play’s for the work, the world’s happy to pay,

The other is play where no money’s conveyed.

Design your life so that both have their place —

Two kinds of play, a big smile on your face.

Society whispers that work must cost you,

That toil is the toll before results can come through.

This poison must be swallowed before you begin,

Convincing you that play is so childish a sin.

The House of Good and Bad drowns out your own voice,

Of the innocent hungers and the intrinsic choice.

When praise and blame have placed their demands,

They bury the joy that was once in your hands.

Once belonging and praise become all that you chase,

Then paid play isn’t seemly or you’d be disgraced.

With desperate seriousness gripping your days,

The House of Good and Bad targets you with its gaze.

After enough to eat, life's a game — such delight.

Giving value, or a service, maybe flying a kite.

You’re the real deal, living just for life’s zeal,

The world will give you much more than a meal.

One play’s for the work, the world happy to pay,

The other is play where no money’s conveyed.

Design your life so that both have their place —

Two kinds of play, a big smile on your face.

I got it!
