Mia’s Journey: Will She Prove It?

I live to be healthy, I live to be glad,

I’m sounding so great but I think I've been had.

My job pays the bills and that's easy and fine,

But I must prove worth, must prove I can shine.

Let’s enjoy our journey, our journey comes first,

Any proof that we're chasing brings only more thirst.

The game that plays us sings an endless refrain,

We’re hooked on a lie that just brings in more pain.

Mia chases the money, the house, and the ring,

For proving she’s worthy is really her thing.

Each trophy she captures confirms that old lie:

That innocent Mia had somehow gone awry.

Let’s enjoy our journey, our journey comes first,

Any proof that we're chasing brings only more thirst.

The game that plays us sings an endless refrain,

We’re hooked on a lie that just brings in more pain.

Watch the children at play with nothing to prove,

No wounds they attend and they’re not behooved.

For joy is their birthright, not earned by the games,

But they’ll step out of Eden when they buy the shame.

Let’s enjoy our journey, our journey comes first,

Any proof that we're chasing brings only more thirst.

The game that plays us sings an endless refrain,

We’re hooked on a lie that just brings in more pain.

The purpose is living, the living is now,

Not beholden to futures by making those vows.

From here and from here is where beauty begins,

Let’s drop all the proving, through our journey all wins.

Let’s enjoy our journey, our journey comes first,

Any proof that we're chasing brings only more thirst.

The game that plays us sings an endless refrain,

We’re hooked on a lie that just brings in more pain.

I got it!
