We'll get your problem solved one way or the other. Open this door
Be more selfish, think ahead—
Not what gets you quickly fed.
Not short-term grabs or zero-sum,
But wins that last and still feel fun.
The selfishness that truly grows
Is one that calculates and knows:
If others thrive from what you do,
Their rising tide will lift you too.
Chasing praise or cash today
Can make tomorrow drift away.
But building trust, and earning grace,
Secures you in the longer race.
A short-term gift can lose its flame,
But value makes you stay in frame.
So give, but give from overflow—
From self-sustaining seeds you sow.
Bezos didn’t give for fame,
He served our wants, then earned his name.
His billions came from meeting needs—
His selfish act, a high-grade breed.
Be selfish in the longer view,
Where helping them comes back to you.
Not quick, not shallow, not unfair—
Selfish enough those fruits to bear.
So when I coach and love the game,
And joy returns without acclaim,
It’s not a loss—it’s value played,
In ways that keep the giving paid.
Call it wise or call it kind,
But selfishness rethought and timed
Destroys the myths of sacrifice—
It’s mutual gain, at compound price.
