Shameless, Easy, And Selfish

They told me to grind, to suffer, to wait,
To silence the hunger, the pleasure, the hate.
"Be pure, be patient, and save every dime—
Your joy will come at a later time."

But I want the taste, the touch, the thrill,
To sleep 'til noon, to bend my will.
Why chase tomorrow, cold and unknown,
When now is alive, and mine alone?

No more war inside my mind,
Future and present now aligned.
I won't be torn by old demands—
I’ll build my life with my own hands.

They warned of ruin, disease, regret,
Of futures lost I won’t forget.
With shame they wrapped my sweetest sins,
And called the fight my discipline.

Yet still I crave, I break, I burn,
For ease, for love, I’ll not return.
Not weak, not wrong—just seeking peace,
From all the rules that never cease.

No more war inside my mind,
Future and present now aligned.
I won't be torn by old demands—
I’ll build my life with my own hands.

So here I stand, both sides in me,
The saint, the child are both set free.
Not bad nor good, just fully whole—
A new way born within my soul.

No more war inside my mind,
Future and present now aligned.
I won't be torn by old demands—
I’ll build my life with my own hands.

I got it!
