Imp-Boy Gets Confused About Truth

Seems little boys have to shave too if they share a body with Dad...
Hello, yo guys. Well, it's Imp-Boy here if you didn't already know. Dad let me sort of run with the body here, and but you know, he didn't tell me, I sort of thought, you know, boys didn't have to shave, but looks like I had to look good for y'all. Oh, dad. Dad. Maybe he didn't know I was playing with the razor, but I try to do a good job.
I'm confused about this truth stuff that seems most others are not...
Anyway, anyway, let's get down to the main subject here. Is just I could I just noticed that truth or I think it's called knowledge also seem to be a pretty important thing with people. you know, because they're already all the time making these statements or assertions about this or that, you know, like 'I should do this, this is this way or...' I know this just this truth stuff or knowledge stuff seems to be very important.
Some types of truth seem a bit essential for living type of stuff...
Actually, it makes a little bit of sense to me because, you know, if I want to get something to eat, for example, I know it's in a place called the kitchen and I have, you know, I have got the lay of the land here and I know I can get from the office to the kitchen. I have knowledge about that. I have truth about that's a very useful type of truth to have, you know, and so...
But some truths seem to really fuck things up by what they get people to do...
So I can see how they it's a you know this thing called truth and knowledge can be useful you know but it also seems to really fuck people around too you know because they they believe they they should do this and they when I talk to them I can't even figure out what this word "should" means or at least they they seem to know what it means when I've observed it very carefully.
Trying to make sense of those "truths" that many people believe in...
The only thing most of the time I can figure out "should" means is like well if if they do what they should do then a certain group of people will praise them and if they don't do what they should do then maybe the same group of people will blame them you know, but sometimes they got attached to other things like a like maybe something that if they did might have some benefits.
Words are needed to express the "truth," but people don't seem to notice that words don't seem to care if they're pointing in every which direction and people don't take the time to ensure those words are pointing to either this one thing or that other thing...
It's but also have cost, you know, or risk and but uh but they seem to not necessarily have that, you know, that's those words are so confusing because it's like what because they can mean many different things, but seems nobody really cares about trying to figure out which which which meanings of the different words they're going to stick with or if the other person has the same meaning. Like there's this word called "fair," you know, and some people seem to mean this by and other people of course he's got a big "should" behind it like it "should be fair." Well, I don't know if fair is going to get you in a lot of cost. I'm not sure.
Ane what the fuck is this "I" anyway???
Well, anyway, they don't seem to think that people I'm just trying to figure out what this knowledge stuff is and and also there's a like a thing about how how do you know this and how do you know that is and you know people even use this word "I" all the time like "I like," "I know this," in fact it all starts with "I" because they say it seems like there's an "I" making these assertions. But science hasn't even found any "I" yet, you know. But "I" doesn't seem to even exist according to science. But but "I" is the one making all these assumptions about about knowledge and truth, you know, and searching for them, you know.
We think we might be on what "I" really is, but our own "I" might be fucking with us about that...
But of course, I've done a lot of thinking or my at least my Dad has. Dad Dwight's done a lot of thinking in this area of, "I" and choice and all that and he has figured out that maybe those things do exist in a strange sort of way called just it is before because you say it is. I mean like fucking god, right? Like really maybe maybe it is true. "I am because I say I am," you know, or something like that. "I choose because I say I choose." some. Science might say that talking like that is a but of philosophical double-speak. But most people don't seem to think
the "I" is like a real thing out in there in the world that can be proven, or have fun with that.
If somebody can ever prove an "I" exist (like they tried to prove ether was out there in space), they'll probably be more famous than Eistein every was...
You know, you'll be the first scientist ever that can prove as an "I".
You know, they those scientists been working for years and years of trying to what is it called?
These super important things have not be solved, yet people seem to be able to get some things done anyway...
Or maybe that was a philosophical issue. "The hard problem of science" or something like that. You know, how do you get this consciousness stuff from the matter? Oh, that's a big problem. You know, we probably shouldn't be able to do anything till we get that problem solved, you know. But people seem to keep doing things anyway. They just get on with their life.
At one time it didn't make sense, but now it almost seems true: either Dad and I know a ton of shit or just about everybody else knows more about how life works that we do...
God, well, I don't know. You You see why I'm sort of confused here, you know?and nobody seems to be much smarter than Dad and me. And but maybe we're not smart at all. I mean, maybe other people know, you know, I think I even had a video recently about that. You know, that video about how Dad is so sorry he didn't understand that life truly is hard. But anyway, I'm pretty sure I'm getting to pretty low on the totem pole with or high in the somewhere in the foundation of things and saying the root of it is and what the fuck do we know or don't know and what does even know mean or truth mean to know something or like have we even defined what they mean? And how do you so by what criteria do we say is it do we even care what is true? I mean what my Dad's been able to figure out.
The final arbiter of "truth"?
It seemed like it's ultimately got to judge about whether it's useful or helpful or more fun or happy or it keeps us away from that pain pain stuff we don't like, you know. and whether it's true or not. Well, maybe it's or useful or not, it may be judged whether it's called one of those assertion type fact things or whether it's called one of those declaration just you say it and it becomes true things. Maybe you just judge them by whether they're helpful or not or make you more happy. Byron Katie said something about this.
It seems that madeup things can be considered a certain type of "truth," either the good kind or the bad kind...
Like cuz some of those things like those those madeup things like "good and evil" and "bad and wrong" and "hell and heaven," that's dangerous shit. That's really really toxic shit.
Good madeup "truth"...
But another thing like I think you know my mother...she's the most amazing love of my whole life and at least my Dad's mother and and you know I guess my Grandmother and she died in 2012. You know and but her spirit I mean is still right here, she's here now, she's looking down on me right now you know I know that's pretty sure I can't prove that, it's pretty much is unprovable just like being unable to prove yourself as an "I." So, but I believe it and it feels sort of good and I don't see that belief doing me any harm to anybody and it's helping me. So, I think that's maybe a a good madeup belief, you know.
Haven't brought in this big word until now...
But and I think this this whole area is called epistemology, right?
Dad knows that word epistemology. epistemology. Everyday epistemology,
that's that's what we got to get our hands on.
Well, I admit, I'm a rambler, and proud of it...
Well, Dad says I tend to ramble, but I can't help it. And maybe this helps you and me. Whatever. Bye-bye. Nice to see you. Dad thinks I've said enough.
