The Trouble With Talking

The Trouble With Talking

TheTrouble With Talking

We marvel at words, how they shimmer and shine,
They build up our thoughts, connect yours and mine.
They carry our meanings—they’re a fundamental tool,
But often they trick us, or make us their fools.

So let’s define what we mean when we speak,
Our strong-sounding words may be toxic or weak.

We praise or condemn with a casual phrase,
But what do we mean when we utter our praise?
Say "selfish" or "brave"—is it fact or just flair?
Or pressure to make someone act like we care?

With labels like “loser,” or “kind,” or “unjust,”
We hide loaded meanings inside every gust.
These words often carry a sneaky demand:
“Be like me, and I’ll like you”—that’s what they command.

So let’s define what we mean when we speak,
Our strong-sounding words may be toxic or weak.

Then there are words that slip through the gate,
Like “maybe” and “hope”—they obscure what we state.
"I hope that I win"—is that fuel or delay?
"Maybe I’ll come"—or just drifting away?

Ambiguity covers our fear and our doubt,
It comforts the Now while it’s selling Next out.
But when we define, the confusion dissolves—
And deeper insight with calm power evolves.

So let’s define what we mean when we speak,
Our strong-sounding words may be toxic or weak.

Words shape what we think, what we feel, what we choose—
But without clear meaning, we’re likely to lose.
So question each phrase, and don’t let it slide—
For truth only grows when it's clearly defined.

So let’s define what we mean when we speak,
Our strong-sounding words may be toxic or weak.
