It's Hard When You Fight Reality

 

Is it hard to just say “no,”

To let your truest feelings show?

Is it hard to break a vow,

And change your life right here and now?

We say it’s hard, we feel the strain,

We argue with the sun and rain.

The only reason for the fight,

Is we resist with all our might.
 

You think you “should” just know the way,

And get your wish this very day.

You fight the world with “good” and “bad,”

Which only leaves you feeling sad.

Your Now and Next are in a feud,

It always spoils your every mood.

Your Oneself and Others can't agree,

On who you really want to be.

Where every single part can’t lose.

But even that feels hard to face,

To find your own forgiving grace.
